Thursday Night Debate

You know, it felt fitting that on the first day of creating the blog to write a little something. Blog or not, tonight was writing worthy. From the hours of 9ish to now, things felt respectful and some trends that people would like to see were front and center. Different than ever before, but front and center.
I don't know, like two candidates actually having a debate and talking about our country. That was nice. And then the Giants and Eagles battling it out on Thursday night with some ugly almost smash mouth football. Some fans, a rivalry game that definitely permeates through this Eastern seaboard, and people watching both, hopefully chatting with family and friends about both.
For a second, it felt like you know what maybe everything is okay. We all know everything's not, but like maybe we got something going tonight that will bleed into a pleasant weekend. A wake up tomorrow TGIF type of feeling, sprinkle in a bagel friday (which used to be the office tradition) and then you know double date our way in and out of Brooklyn.
Due to bedtimes that have gotten exclusively earlier (from 2 to 1 to now hovering at 12:45), we're writing this before the game has concluded, but being in the city of New York has taught me a few things - people love their Giants and believe in the organization - and watch games when they're out of contention and struggling. I don't really get it. I think Eli is a dooferbabybooball good guy who throws a nice Peking Duck House duck on most of his throws. And definitely have not become a Giants fan, but have a newer appreciation for those that are. Which is why, on a night like tonight where maybe the country took a deep breath and thought for a second we'll be okay, it would be fitting if the Giants won.
Now that we've reached the two minute warning, I have two minutes to talk about Troy Aikman's black tie black suit combo which is just absolutely ridiculous for the Thursday night broadcast. We (being me and my former roommate the Doag) have studied the attire of that duo (can never forget the sweater night of early 2019), but tonight was a whole different world. Almost as if he had an ESPY Oscar worthy event after the game (an event(s) that would be nice to go to at some point).
So you could argue it two ways - all would end right if the Giants won. Feel right. For the Giants fans who are undoubtedly tuned in at 1-5. For the city of New York. But then, you could say (after seeing the Giants just falter time after time and lose heartbreakers), that it would be even more fitting if the Giants lost this one (now sitting at 1st and Goal with 51 seconds left).
I want the Giants to win. That ends this Thursday night (that had good momentum) right. And today the right way. And then again, maybe it doesn't. Post script - Giants lose 22-21 after being up 21-10 with 6 minutes left.
Nice to have a different pen and paper to write on. My personal computer died today anyway so was a good day to turn personal to personal professional.
